Honoring My Great-Great Grandparents

My grandmother, Grammy, asked me to create a wall grouping that would feature her grandfather's cane. He used this after he went blind. I decided since it was so big that using a shadow box wouldn't work. So instead I framed it without glass and used burlap behind the cane for interest. I tied the cane with brown ribbon that I wove through the burlap to hold it in place. I added a picture of my great-great grandfather and great-great grandmother who immigrated here from Italy and a frame with family information to complete the wall grouping.
I was happy with the way this turned out and I think it tells a nice story about my family. Thank you Grammy for giving me the chance to put this all together for you:)

  2. That is really something special you have created! What a beautiful wall piece. I love how you are always thinking outside of the box to use your talents.

  3. Yes, Ashley Morgan, I absolutely love my new wall grouping. Madison, you did a fantastic job! Keep up your great creative work, and I'll keep thinking of projects for you to do! Can hardly wait for you to see it actually hanging in my living room. Love you, Grammy.
